“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Everything in the world is energy. Energy flows (that’s how we can have electricity). If you picture what you want in life as being part of the flow of energy you will be able to get a better grasp of what I’m going to explain to you about gratitude and thankfulness.
When you start to recognize what you are grateful for and are thankful for it you start vibrating at a different energy level. Emotions have energy frequencies. The emotion of love vibrates at the creative frequency. God is love, God creates. He created us in His image, therefore we should create. It is what we are made for.
Often we get lost in a perception that things are “real” and that there is a shortage or that more can’t come. When that happens we freeze up and can’t vibrate on the frequency necessary to attract abundance into our lives. This easily happens when we forget gratitude and thankfulness.
Here is a short video explaining a couple ideas on how to incorporate gratitude and thankfulness through visualization to create abundance in your life.
Gratitude and Thankfulness
While this video is mostly about visualization the combination of practicing gratitude through sharing and visualization is an important concept. I have often thought that nothing actually belongs to us and that the more loosely we hold on to stuff the more stuff flows into our lives. In some ways that is counter intuitive.
If you consider the story in the Bible about the miser and how he had so much stuff he had to build more barns to hold it all, but that very night he lost everything because he died all of his possessions went to those left behind that he could have been blessing while he was alive and they all would have had more. Think about a river. A river can be dammed up, however, eventually the river will start to either over flow or explode the dam. In the mean time there has been a lack on the side where the water was prevented from flowing to and there was flooding upstream. Rivers tend to perform better without dams.
Abundance in all areas of life is like a river. Abundance performs better when it isn’t being dammed up by a mentality of lack or a misapplication of the abundance that is already in your life, namely being grateful for what you already have and sharing. Believe me you have so much even if you think you have hardly anything. The real value in life comes from experiences and the value you place on the things and people in your life.
- Make a list of 100 things that you are totally and genuinely grateful for – even the mundane things like having a straw for you water glass, or a pen and paper to write with.
- Every day for the next 30 days spend five minutes in the morning and in the evening writing down what you are grateful and thankful for.
- Spend five minutes every morning and evening visualizing what you want to attract into your life with emotion attached to it.
